Is that substantially bigger than your old one? It doesn't look so?

Are you going to keep the old one as well?

Got my rust blue, steam pot with PVC tube system up and running. It is a steam generator made from a 3 gallon flat top kitchen pot with a 4 inch PVC toilet flange bolted to the lid with two 2ft long sections of 4 inch PVC sewer pipe, top section notched for a hanger dowel, with a 4 inch PVC cap. It works like a champ, with a Win M-60 rifle rust blued in one day. Now have a 1931 Win restored back to its original finish, wood and metal.

It was prepped in a blast cabinet (had a fine rust on the metal that had some fine pits under the surface rust) then run on a 320 grit 36 inch sanding belt with a barrel spinner, without any buffing compound. The metal was then washed in acstone three times the bore sprayed with clear lacquer and all metal washed in hot water with Dawn.

Met a fellow GCGF'er at the range this morning to give him the chance to shoot a few of my ARs. Here is what I took out there.

After shooting some rounds through each of them, he has pretty much decided on something like the middle one. It is always a good feeling to get someone started on becoming an AR owner. The next stage is to help him narrow down the exact parts to be used. He was really impressed with the VORTEX Strikefire as was he the Primary Arms 1-4x24, but the Strikefire is more of what he would choose to have for now. We also discussed the possibility of doing something like the first one pictured, but maybe going with a 12" handguard. His girlfriend and he are considering doing some 3-Gun in the future and the 12" handguard would be good for both of them as far as the length is concerned. I am just thrilled to be able to help somebody else. BTW, he is the one that bought my Fabrique De Armas FR-8. He absolutely loves it. His girlfriend has also shot it and he said she wants to take it away from him to have it for herself. Anyhow, it was another good range day.

All in a day's work. Always glad to help any way I can. Thank you for the upper receiver. I hope to put it to good use as soon as I can.

Smelted more wheel weights today until I ran out of propane again. I have smelted somewhere in excess of 800 pounds so far and have another 200 or so to go. Then time to start on the lead. And no I do not want to sell, donate, or trade. Too much damn work to do this much at one time. :tongue1:

I don't think I'll be able to find a CZ 75 Shadow SA in stock anywhere in the near future, so I went ahead and ordered parts to convert my 75B to SAO (I will still be able to use those parts if/when I find a Shadow SA). I'm not sure I'll have a chance to install and test everything before the next IDPA match, so I'll probably leave it alone until I make sure I'll have time to get to the range.

I also need to work up a load with the Federal primers I recently purchased to hopefully be able to swap hammer springs and lighten the pull, while still maintaining reliable ignition.

Last night, I ordered a PSA "Stealth" lower for an A2 build I will be doing now. Thanks to Dante for giving me an A2 upper receiver, I am obligated to not have it laying around. It was a hard decision as to which lower to use. I did not like most of the roll marks on the majority of the lowers. Last night, I was checking out the PSA website and noticed they had their Stealth lowers back in stock. That was the perfect one. I already have a LPK ready for it, as well as the pistol grip, gas tube and pin, BCG, and CH. I just have to acquire another round button forward assist, A2 port door, 20" A2 Gov't profile 1/7 barrel assembly (will get from Windham Weaponry), A2 buttstock, A2 handguards, and a couple pieces for the Delta ring assembly. Not in a big hurry, but I would like to get it done ASAP. If anyone has any of these pieces and want to donate them or sell them cheap, let me know. I would really appreciate it.

That's great! How are you going to match the colors?

They should be pretty close. Even if they are a little different, that is no biggie to me. A lot of times, even military weapons have varying shades between uppers and lowers. It is more about the function than the aesthetics. Even if the lower is a little darker, I can manipulate it to where it is a closer match to the upper. I am really looking forward to having an A2 again. Thanks again for the upper.

Lol! Meanwhile, I'll be sitting over here, working my NoDak Spud to Colt matching battlefield perfection. Can't wait to get it.

That looks a lot better without the black paint on it. That is some nice patina.

Thanks! Agreed. I can't have that refinished. It'd be like stripping away its badges. Lol.

Changed a firing pin spring, trigger spring, and safety plunger spring in my G22 Gen4. Also put extended slide stop and ghost trigger connector in. Trigger pull is much better, however, I am not totally satisfied with the trigger. Prolly gonna try Glock OEM stuff next.

This was yesterday's project. Mounting up bases rings and optic to a new Chipmunk pistol and today I'm going to attempt to unstick these jammed sights in favor of new ones for my M&P 45

Traded my Shield 9 the other day for an OD Gen4 Glock 26. Ordered a set of Ameriglo Pro I-Dots (awesome sights, super fast target acquisition) installed them last night. Hit the woods today to see how she ran. 400 flawless rounds. I'll take it..

Made its way right into my EDC.. Here is my best 10 shot group from 7 yds.
