Met some cool people today and got some cool stuff.
20 inch .224 valkyrie upper and early m16 stock set. Still reading up on the stock set. I'll post the details later. I won't he using this stock set on my ar9. Saving for later project. Also got a cool pair of belleview aircrew boots, lightly used.

    Put this together today.

I had this TC for 10+ years it is in 204 Ruger caliber, great caliber and super fun to shoot. I was thinking about buying a 300 blackout bolt gun when it came to mind to see if TC made a 300 barrel, well long storyy short MGM make one and a place called HauseofArms sells them so here is the result.IMG_1312.JPGIMG_1314.JPGIMG_1317.JPG

First pic TC in 204 Ruger, second pic 300 blackout barrel, third pic 300 blackout suppressed. 300 barrel is 16 1/4 long giving the overall length of 28 inches (without the suppressor) for those of you that think this migt have to qualify as an sbr.

Looks like a decent set of handguards and D type stock.

Picked up a Bushmaster lower today, painted up. Any way to pull the paint off?

Try spraying and wiping it down with Birchwood-Casey Gun Scrubber. Be careful when using it on plastics. You can carefully wipe down the pistol grip and stock, but make sure to use some type of soapy cleaner to get the residue off and apply something like Armor All or some CLP and wipe off any excess. You should also rub in some CLP on the receiver and wipe it off.

Picked up a basic RR and Aimpoint M2 Friday... it was rattle canned pretty rough, so I resprayed it and made sure it was sighted in. Should make a good truck gun.

Thanks, near as I can tell it's a D. The handguards dont match, one is matte, the other shiny. No broken parts though.

The shiny handguard would be earlier. later ones were made of a different material, hence the matte looking finish. You can use some polish (like black paste shoe polish), work it in, and buff it to give the matte handguard more of a sheen. You could also use gun oil and work it in to get close to the same effect.

A friend, SODAPOPMG, recommended I try some CCI Clean .22 ammo in my suppressed Ruger 77/22 to help keep it cleaner, so I did. From the cleaned rifle, the first group was so-so, but subsequently it shot better (maybe the bore was being conditioned with the polymer coated bullets?), so the 77/22 is now sighted in with that ammo.

Cast more 30 cal and 6.5 cal rifle bullets yesterday and today for a total cast of 1,069 the two days. If I keep casting while my wife and I hunker down from the virus, I'll either run out of casting metal or have a lifetime supply of those cast bullets or maybe both. Ran out of 6.5mm gas checks, so I need to order more. Gonna try Gator brand gas checks, about $13.00 less per thousand than Hornady; some dimensions, metal, and crimp-on as Hornady. Those 6.5's with all their lube grooves go through the lube, so I buy it in bulk blocks, melt it in the microwave and pour it in the lube-sizer...MUCH cheaper than sticks of lube.

    Today's casting session:

Picking around on it the spray paint is coming off. Have to find some of that birchwood Casey stuff. Tried nitro but no luck. Oven cleaner maybe?.. kidding! Has the very short fixed stock on it. Carbine buffer and spring.

** pulling it apart to work on it, somebody used red lock tight on the buffer tube. Stock is factory tan as well as grip. Looks like the lower was cerkoted tan.

    Like that pattern.
Thanks man! Pretty simple to do, just used Rustoleum FDE and OD, and a chum bag to get the pattern. Cost about 10 bucks. Saw it on the Garand Thumb YouTube page (huge wealth of knowledge for lots of modern platforms as well, flannel daddy is the man)

I looked at that ad a couple times but I am trying to save for something else. I do need to try my hand at spray painting soon.

$&#^=<'euxuy cuff hays! Damm paint is like glue. Looks like spray paint over cerkote tan. Want to get to the orginal black finish without wrecking it. Got the lower stripped and wrapped in a paper towel with dot 3 brake fluid. I'm gonna give it an hour. Got the grip cleaned off and 1/2 of the plastic stock.

Nope, trying birchwood bore cleaner now...if your going to paint something you better like it, multiple coats are hell to get off.

There might be someone around here with a soda blaster, that might work for you.
