X100!!! The linoleum hook blades are like American Express; you don't want to leave home without it. They stand up well to the coarse hair and tough hide of the hogs.

And the replacement blades are cheap too!

I'd've been stoked to see those assclowns last night.

Just got back from "hunting" in Century and aside from enjoying natures quiet, it was a bust.
Wouldn't have been so bad if I was intending to hunt wabbits, blow $200 and freeze my nuts off!

    Lesson learned...Im Sticking to WMA.

SBR.........Would ask that you'd be more specific about your expierance up there so as to help the others to make an informed decission as to hunt with them. Did you have to pay and kill nothing ?? Was it a "guided" hunt ?? A "put and take",or high fence operation ??

If you would like a walk-in hunt on the Escambia County side of the Escambia River WMA I would surely be glad to take you into a couple of places that I know and show you around. These places are where I have killed hogs and deer in the past and I know them pretty well. --- SAWMAN

Yeah I don't know anyone that kills hogs everytime they go out unless they are in a pen.

SBR, you just never know, it is always live and learn. I had 20 hogs in front of me last evening, 16 piglets and 4 wet sows. I let them all walk, there will be another day.

They don't, HAVE A NO KILL, NO PAY CLAUSE IN THERE FEE?
THIS WOULD MAKE FOR A REPEAT HUNTER & VERY GOOD PROMO FOR HIS BUSINESS
SOMEONE SHOULD ASK HIM ABOUT THE NO KILL, NO PAY PLAN :brick::second:

I was going to do this eloquent, narrative write up of the place I went to, but just don't have time. So...here's a quickie:

    Paina Farms
    Century, Fl
    Contact: Don Bush - 850-293-4257

    Hog hunting on 200+ Acres
Shooting houses, cleared plots, timed feeders, motion lights
$60 per hunter per 24 hour period, $100 for a two day trip
    No harvest fee for hogs
$25 fee for overnight use of base camp

Don will bait the hogs a day before you arrive, and guide you to base camp upon arrival.
He or his staff will also lead you to the plots if needed. Maps provided.

Don is a great guy, retired USMC, and went the extra mile for us.

We arrived at 4, shot the breeze for a few then headed out.
We got to our plots and sat til 9pm.
Motion lights went off quite a few times, but not for hogs.
We checked a trap that don had set, and saw that it had been pushed off of the corn. We set it and placed it back over the corn.

Took my dad and buddy home about 1130 and went back to the property. Snoozed for 2 hours and went scouting at sun up.
The trap had been pushed off the corn again, corn gone, and roots and stamp all around.

Went to each plot my party sat at- saw a few signs of activity.
Ventured back to the plot I sat at and while my back was turned I scared off an unsighted hog. Must've been a big one because his crashing thru the woods was pretty loud.

Plenty of signs on the property, I just think they could smell me even though I doused myself in scent killer.
All in all, had a good time hangin out. I would go back, but would plan on a full moon and have some scent-lock getup.

I said I would stick to WMA because its free, not because of anything negative about the farm. Just want to make that clear.

So there were hogs there just not while you were watching, and the owner said? Please come back for free or 1/2 price since you did not see anything?

Yep. Extra sneaky hogs, I guess.

No, no offer of discounted return trip. However, I stopped at the barn briefly on the way home to drop off the slop bucket and did not see Don. Had I, he might've offered.

On the bright side, I came out of the weekend with a free deep freeze and my dad met a retired deputy that offered to take us out to his spot. He said the hogs are 60-80 lbs avg and are "fun" to hunt due to the hunting being of a self preservation nature...these hogs WILL charge!
Gonna give it a shot sometime later this month.

Thanks for the report. My cousin and I were going to go up there that night as well, but we both ended up working late. I had my doubts about the place, but figured for $60 it would be worth it just to hunt somewhere new and see their setup. I think I will just stick to my lease. I just wish the hogs would stick to a schedule!
