Can't figure out why everybody feels the need to kill a bobcat. --- SAWMAN
One, because it's legal... two, because they have no natural predators, 3 because they devastate the Turkey and quail populations.

Honestly it's the first one I've ever killed... I don't care how many turkeys they eat. I just wanted to mount one.

Finally got done with my make over of my Ruger P-85. It was a cerakote learning experience. I have a couple of spots that I messed up on but over all it looks good to me. Put some new sights on her since it was a full frame & slide disassembly.

Yeah, Looking at it now, I think you're right. The hammer and trigger was both silver so I cerakoted it black, but I think I will have to take it apart and paint it bronze. It's funny that when my wife or daughters ask if "these shoes match the dress", I usually just say yes not really caring but when I look at a gun I am more critical.

I guess I did forget to mention the 2nd bobcat I shot a few weeks ago. This one was stalking an all white fox squirrel. The .308win ate her up. DRT. Dang near cut her in half, but the skull was salvaged.

I have to ask since I am a city boy, how do you get the skulls so clean? Do you do it yourself?

My buddy Clay does them for me. He fleshes them out, then puts them in a recirculating tub of hot water and degreaser to pull the fat out of the bone. Then a bath of peroxide for whitening. It's a nasty job, so it's well worth the money to have him do it. Lol.

Museums I was told used to use insects to clean bone, but I could be in error on that.

Flesh eating beatles are absolutely the best method. I have several skulls done that way and they are incredible.

Picked up a 8.5 inch upper on a great deal. Added some style. Looking forward to adding an optic and flash can and blasting! Dosent that grip just pop?
