Midway does not longer have a dealer's pricing , Grafs and Sons does not accept C&R for new dealers accounts , Brownells does but the discounts are good mostly for gunsmithing and gun parts as there is very little saving , if any, on anything else.

No you do not. And they produce less smoke than a lubed lead bullet. Much less.
Many of the guys they shoot production 9mm in Vinegar Bend use either SNS or Bayou both coated and none experience any problems. There is also a guys that shoots them in a Glock.

IMR Hi-skor 800X can give you that speed if the barrel is at least 4.5-5" long.
This powder is flaky and does not meter well so at this level of speed and pressure you have to weight every single load.
Let me trying to answer your questions:
1) 9mm will cost you about 10$ and that's excluding the brass. Bullets 115 grains are 70$ / 1000 shipped from SNS casting, primers are 22$/1000 plus shipping and hazmat, the rest is powder.
The 45 ACP bullet costs more, primer and powder about the same...
For me Bullseye works the best for the 45 ACP and I get as little as 6 fps standard deviation in a target load. I use the Lee Autodisk powder measure.
For the 9mm I prefer Unique but Bullseye works well too. An inaccuracy of 0.1 or 0.2 grains does not influence velocity or accuracy at all so...
